OllOhof

A meeting place for artists, culture enthusiasts, and the urban public: The OllOhof, owned by the architectural firm “Schraut Rentschler,” is located in Mainz Neustadt and is in the process of becoming a cultural center with space for art, culture, education, and social initiatives. Despite disagreements with the city of Mainz regarding its future use, several creative projects are already taking place at OllOhof. We were also given the opportunity to leave our mark on the unique surfaces of the site with a free design without any guidelines: We chose to use the word OLLOHOF as the foundation for our design, slicing, abstracting the letterforms, and filling the resulting shapes with various textures and connections. In doing so, we partially drew inspiration from the existing architecture, such as windows, projections, materials, and so on. In certain areas, we deliberately left the original brick exposed to create a harmonious interaction with the colors and to give the large-scale and somewhat wild design some breathing space and tranquility.

This was definitely one of the most exciting wall surfaces we have had the privilege to design, and we are grateful for the trust and relaxed attitude of the owners, which allowed us to paint the entire façade freely. Many thanks and continued success with the wonderful OllOhof project!
